Mississippi Envision1 :: Quality Healthcare Services Improving Lives
MSCAN Information

The Division of Medicaid has a Coordinated Care Program called MississippiCAN (MSCAN). There are certain beneficiaries that qualify for this program. The charts below tell which beneficiaries must be in the program (mandatory), and which beneficiaries can choose to be in the program (optional).

The Mississippi Division of Medicaid has contracted with two Coordinated Care Organizations (CCOs) - Magnolia Health and United HealthCare Community Plan. The CCOs are responsible for providing services to the Mississippi Medicaid beneficiaries who are in the MSCAN program. In addition to your regular Medicaid services, you can get extra services from the CCOs. In the MSCAN program, you will have a medical home. This means you will pick one main doctor that you want to see for your health care.

Beneficiaries who are mandatory and qualify for this program will only have the choice to switch between the two plans, Magnolia Health and United HealthCare Community Plan. Mandatory populations are not eligible for disenrollment.

Beneficiaries who are optional and qualify for this program will have the choice to either enroll in a CCO or choose to stay in the regular Medicaid program.
